Below are some suggestions of things you can do to get active in school. Is your school an institution actively promoting global citizenship? Click here to find out through our quiz

  • Set up school events to raise awareness
  • Design a poster sharing information about or campaigning for any of the issues from GF website
  • Get your school to sign a petition against debt for developing countries
  • Ask a teacher for help to arrange an assembly on one or all of these issues
  • Arrange for a speaker from an organisation involved with fair trade, debt or development issues to visit your school
  • Discuss these issues with your school librarian and ask for a display board or new books to raise awareness
  • Do your own drama about the effects of fair trade
  • Draw up a list of rights and responsibilities for your classroom and school
  • Set up a lunchtime club to discuss these issues and write letters
  • Ask for a space in your school to display up to date information
  • Create your own website for young people to visit, sharing these issues on webpages
