Politics
is about power. The people who lead and govern a country, however
they come to be in power, therefore have a huge responsibility
for the decisions they make.
All
leaders, whether local, regional, national or international, can take decisions
which benefit the lives of their people, for example through
improving education, health care and social welfare. But at times,
in order to achieve 'improvements' in their society, the decisions
made can lead to financial mismanagement, corruption and even
violence.
Within
all politics, there are rarely any easy choices. By
being efficient, open and accountable, leaders can ensure that
corruption is eradicated. |
