All
women have the same human needs and rights as men, whatever cultural
differences exist. Ensuring that all women have the right to education
has an enormous impact upon wider society.
Being
literate means that women and girls are better able to manage their households' health,
diet, and obtain better diagnosis and treatment of health problems.
This
helps reduce infant death rates, and also helps people live longer. Furthermore, as
women make up over half the world's population it is important
that they be involved in all levels of decision-making. |
