Bangladesh:

 

Bangladesh is a republic, with a written constitution. The Head of State is the President, currently Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed. The head of the government is the Prime Minister, currently Begum Khaleda Zia, who has a cabinet of 26 Ministers, responsibility for different departments, such as Education, Rural Affairs, and so on.

The parliament, called Jatiya Sangsad, has 330 elected members. 300 members are elected by the people, and a further 30 women are elected by the parliamentarians. The government is located in Dhaka.

The administration of the country is divided into 64 districts within 5 divisions. Generally there is a move towards a more decentralised system of government, particularly in the rural areas.
