Market Research

The starting point for your school link is to create joint Vision and Mission Statements.

These can then feed into the market research and your business plan that will ensure the sustainablity and values of the link (co-operative values including equality, equity, community development and inclusion).

Using social enterprise in your link will get your children learning about business and enterprise. This will automatically allow them to research stakeholders, customers and community.

Primary school councillors at Tower Hamlets Town Hall being trained by secondary school councillors from George Greens School on analysing the effects of their decisions using multiple bottom lines. The columns are stakeholders and the environment. This is a method used to teach what a corporate social responsibility audit is and moving from that to what is a social enterprise.

How can your children learn about their community, and the community of the school they are linked to? A tool for this is market research, needed as part of any business plan, and that also feeds into the joint mission statement defining the relationship between the schools that are linked.
