'A footprint means pressing down and global means world, so 'global footprint' means pressing down on the world and we don't want to press too hard' (child's definition of a Global Footprint)

It is often difficult for pupils to engage with global learning, they need to be given the opportunity to think about issues that connect them to the wider world, to develop their democratic understanding and voice, to think about their (and others) rights, and explore their global responsibilities.

Learning in a Global Context is a framework for helping schools engage in an ongoing process of developing global learning.

Global Events are a good way to begin to introduce and think about issues around the world. You will find examples and a calendar of global events on the page.

School Councils can be used to have children think about rights and express their views on them. You will find examples where you can participate in activities needed for school council working, including; representation, group work, decision-making, participation, research &  presentation.
