Biodiversity: The number and range of species of animals and plants that live in a particular environment or the planet as a whole.

Food miles: the distance any particular food travels from where it is grown to where it is eaten.

Greenhouse gases [already in glossary for energy]: any gas that warms the Earth's atmosphere by reflecting heat given off from the Earth's surface. Examples of greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, ozone and water vapor.
